Sadanam K. Harikumaran (also known as Sadanam Harikumar) is the son of late Sri. K. Kumaran and Sreemathi Sarojini Amma; and grandson of Kakkad Karanavappad. Sri Kumaran, who sacrificed his youth and got imprisoned for the nation's freedom, was the founder secretary of the Sadanam Kathakali Academy.

Possessing a diploma and scholarship from the Department of Cultural Affairs, Govt.of India, Sri. Harikumar practiced Kathakali under Padmasree Keezhpadam Kumaran Nair and Sadanam Balakrishnan at Gandhi Seva Sadanam Kathakali Akademy. He has great ingenuity in practicing Kathakali characters of heroic and villainous shades like "Pacha", "Kathi" and the like. He has directed and choreographed many "Kalasams" and dance numbers and incorporated stage-crafts for the Islamic characters like Vavar and mytholological characters like Salyar, Ghatotkacha and Dronar. By creating, directing, and rendering into kathakali strain, the novel stories like Sapamochanam, Karnnaparvam, Abhimanyu, Chitrangada, Puruvamsodayam, and Manikantha charitham, he extended the artistic horizon of Kathakali and made it a popular form of art. Julius Caesar of Shakespeare has been imparted its Kathakali form with its name Charudatha and thus brought into the realm of Kathakali.

Sri. Harikumaran is at present the Secretary of Gandhi Seva Sadanam Kathakali Academy, and an active member of Sathvikam Kalasadanam- a sister concern of Gandhi Seva Sadanam Kathakali Academy.
